Coaching FAQ

Ketogenic Lifestyle coaches help clients achieve habit change via coaching. Your keto coach is happy to work with you to best support your goals.

Coaches do not diagnose or treat illnesses, diseases, prescribe medications, give medical advice, or perform functions of a medical professional. Always consult your doctor for medical issues or concerns.

When will I hear from my coach?

You will receive an introductory email from your coach, with instructions for your chosen service, within 24 hours of your initial sign up. If you have not received a response in 24 hours, please check your SPAM folder first. If your coach's email did not inadvertently go to SPAM, please contact us using the Contact Form.

How does scheduling work?

Appointments are coordinated directly with your coach.

How long is a coaching session?

1-on-1 session may last up to an hour, once a week. Full group sessions (of 4 members) may last up to an hour once a week. Smaller groups may have shorter sessions, depending on how many participants are in the group.

What if I miss a session?

For 1-on-1 clients who give 24-hours notice, sessions may be rescheduled/made up.

Missed group sessions may not be made up unless your coach has an open space at another group time. Make sure your schedule is compatible with that of your chosen coach.

For 1-on-1 and group sessions missed, any questions or concerns may be addressed via email.

How does a coaching session work?

1-on-1 and group coaching calls are done through video chat or phone call, depending on your coach. Your coach will email you a call log in shortly before your scheduled time. You can join the call either through your computer or a mobile app.

Make sure that if you are working from a computer that it is enabled with a working microphone.

In group sessions, there will be up to three other clients on the call. Everyone will have individual time to discuss their current situations and voice any questions, concerns, and/or victories.

Will having a coach yield results?

That depends on you. Keep in mind, coaches are to provide support, accountability, encouragement, offer new ideas/tweaks/changes for both food and behaviors. We want to see you reach your goals, but we cannot do the work for you. We need you to be serious and committed to change. This process is all about you. The hard parts are up to you.

What if I have medical concerns?

Your coach is not a medical professional.

Any advice or information presented in coaching sessions, whether through an online meeting or through email, should not be considered medical advice or treatment. Always consult with your primary care physician.

Your coach will promote a true ketogenic way of eating, as advised by the foremost medical and research experts in the field.

What if I change my mind about coaching?

If you change your mind about coaching services, you can cancel and your service will cease at the end of your current billing cycle. No monies paid will be refunded.

How do I continue or cancel my coaching sessions?

One-on-One Coaching is set up as a subscription service, and will automatically renew every 30 days until you cancel.

If you need to change the type of coaching or change your payment method, you may do so via the My Account dashboard. Click on your email address at the top of the screen once you have logged in to update your information and billing method.

Refunds will not be issued if you cancel after your subscription has renewed. To cancel, do so 48 hours or more before your recurring charge occurs. You cannot cancel the day of your renewal. Your subscription must be cancelled prior to the renewal date.

There are no refunds unless for some reason you have been erroneously charged more than once

There are no refunds for the 8-Week Education and Support specialty groups due to limited spaces. Once a space is reserved it is otherwise unavailable to others. Special consideration will be given if a refund request for a specialty group is requested within 72 hours before the start of the group, allowing an opportunity for your spot to be filled.

What if I want to switch to a different type of coaching? (e.g., begin as email but switch to group)

To change your subscription to a different type of coaching service, you may do so via the My Account dashboard. 

There is no prorating or switching service mid-subscription. All changes will take place at the beginning of your next billing cycle.

What if my coach quits, is terminated, or is ill and takes a leave of absence after I have signed up?

You will choose another coach to work with. There are no refunds. NOTE: This is a very rare occurrence.

What if I have a medical condition? Which coach would be best for me?

Please use the Contact Us form on this website to discuss your situation with the Executive Team. They will be happy to make recommendations.

How does coaching work during holidays?

There will be no face-to-face sessions (no group or 1-on-1) during the week of Thanksgiving and the week of and/or after Christmas. Your coach may be available via email. Your coach will let you know the specifics of their holiday schedule, as is applicable.

Your coach may reschedule sessions that fall during their personal vacation time. You will still receive all the sessions due to you.

Your coach will inform you directly of any alterations in their schedule.

Will my coach provide a meal plan?

Unless you've signed up for coaching that includes meal plans, coaches do not provide meal plans, and will not tell you what to eat or when. Coaches are there to help you learn what well formulated ketogenic meals look like based on the foods you enjoy.

Coaches may provide suggestions regarding simple meals and places to find recipes online.

The My Ketogenic Kitchen website offers meal plans for sale, so be sure to sign up for email reminders (and receive a free food list in return!) so that you will be notified when new meal plans are released.

Will my coach provide macros?

Your coach will be able to assist in finding the macros suited to your body and goals.

Our Ketogenic Lifestyle coaches advocate for macros that are very low carb, moderate protein, and high fat.

Will my coach provide workouts and/or exercise advice?

The coaches may offer suggestions and resources for you to utilize during your workouts, but they are not personal trainers.

Can I purchase a gift certificate?

Yes! To purchase, click on the Gift Card tab.

How do I redeem a gift certificate?

You should receive a unique discount code. This code will allow you to apply the value of the gift card to your order. You do not have to use the product indicated on the gift card. If there is a balance on the card, you will be able to use it again. If payment is due, you will be prompted to pick a payment for the balance.
