After 4.5 months Keto I put up a 7.3 Hemoglobin A1C, a big improvement over the 10.2 I put up in late November. Secret for me was a weekly call with the awesomest coach alive, Jessyca Reynolds, just sticking to the plan, getting it all in the diary and not getting on a scale. Ever. That weigh (haha) I’ve avoided judging/condemning and self-congratulating, things I kind of always did 4.6 months ago. Planning to close my eyes, put my fingers in my ears and start humming show tunes next week when I get on the scale for my physical. Life is definitely better these days.

I heard about Keto in September of 2016 from a friend.  I’d never heard about it before then so I looked into it.  I’ve tried many times to loose weight but had no success.  I hit 220 pounds and said that something has to change.  So started Keto lost 40 pounds within 9 months then stalled and went awhile before getting coach Mary Roberts.  She helped me fine tune to start losing again.  I have been stalled again for awhile but I am in no rush I’ve went from size 22 to 12 regular jeans.  Now I’m in a petite 12 no weight loss but my body is changing and healing so slowly.  I am Ketoing on knowing this lifestyle is healing me.  I also forgot to say I have Hypothyroidism and Keto is helping with that as well.  I love this group and all the help we give each other.

I had lost my focus and needed guidance and understanding of the pit falls I was experiencing. Since signing up for coaching, I have had a lot of "A-Ha Moments"; one of which is that I needed the accountability as I am very good at rationalizing things which are not to my benefit. I've been vegan (even raw and fruitarian) and vegetarian for around 15 years. When I turned 40, my body just struggled. My hair fell out in clumps, my skin was very dry and felt like crepe throughout the day, my body was tired. Most people come to keto wanting to lose weight but, with Mary's help, I focused on nourishing myself. Mary taught me to trust the process and just eat to hunger. That was tough for me: I was afraid of eating so much, I was afraid of all the fat and calories. After a couple of months, I did gain weight but that came with thick hair, moisturised and nourished skin, abs that I never thought I could have, and no more carb face. I highly recommend getting a Ketoevangelist Coach and being part of this knowledgeable and supportive group!
